Thank you for using my blog!

Dear Parents,
Thank you for your overwhelming response to my Class 1 blog. It has certainly helped my daughter to do better academically and many other kids whose parents regularly used this blog. Although I reiterate that marks and grades are no indication of intellect level of any kid but scoring good marks in the examination surely boost the confidence of kid.

I know most of you were nervous in Class 1 as your kids were facing assessment first time. Now nervousness has overtaken by curiosity this year, isnt it? You are curious to know whether your kids will continue performing better this year too. Right! Do not worry. I am here again for your help. As a parent of Class 2 child, I will continue uploading preparation material on this blog. These preparation tips has worked for me and my child. Hopefully it will work for you and your kid as well.

English stands out as an important subject as it is not only medium of communication but also it is medium for other subjects. According to me most important aspects in English are Spelling and vocabulary for Class 2 kids along with Grammar. Therefore, my preparation material focuses on these aspects. Moreover, I do not believe in memorizing the things.  Another aspect I would recommend to focus is writing skills which is also important to your child's performance. Writing well can boost your child's confidence. You can refer my blog on Spellbee for improving spellings and vocabulary of your kid.

Steps to prepare your kid for Class 2 English:
Step 1: Start with My Stories Book. Sit with your kid and ask him or her to read the lesson/poem. While reading if your kid is stumbling at few words, provide help to complete the words or sentences. If your kids ask any question or meaning of the words, clarify it immediately.
Step 2: Ask your kid to write lesson/poem in the notebook. Your kid may feel bored to do this but you will have to motivate. This step is most important as it not only improves writing skill but also revises the chapter. If lesson or poem is too long then ask your kid to write one or two page a time and complete writing in multiple sessions.
Step 3: Read and explain story to your kid. Make this session interactive and as interesting as possible. This should imprint the story to the kids mind therefore eliminating the need to memorize anything.
Step 4: Ask your kid spellings, rhyming words, opposite words, homophones words, homonyms words, etc. etc. This will prepare your kid for spellbee as well.
Step 5: Revise question-answers orally from theme book, work book and school worksheets, etc.
Step 6: Ask your kid to complete the preparation material provided in this blog.
Word of caution: Do not give all the the pages at once. Give your kid one or two pages at a time.

Step 7: Repeat Step 1 through Step 6 for other lessons/poem too.

Sample preparation material prepared by me is given below:
