The above stated research objectives are achieved by performing following six tasks as shown in Fig. 2.30.

·       Task 1: FEA simulations of micro-cutting.

·       Task 2: Experimentation on micro-cutting.

·       Task 3: Analysis of microcrack formation and its contribution to the size effect.

·       Task 4: Analysis of specific work of fracture (R) and size effect.

·       Task 5: Evaluation of J-integral ahead of tool-tip and its contribution to size effect.

·       Task 6: Modeling of workpiece microstructure in micro-cutting and evaluating its contribution to the size effect.
