GIIS - Class 1 - IT - Main Page
Dear Parents,
I know everyone of you is nervous as well as curious. As your child will face the examination first time. As a parent of class I child, I offer few tips for preparation of your child for the examination. These tips worked for me and my child. Hopefully, it will work for you and your kid as well.
Steps to prepare your kid for IT:
Preparation for IT should be little easier as today's generation is already using computers, laptops, smartphones, etc. They are already aware of these machines. Concepts of this subject can be explained practically. This will help your kid to understand it faster. Moreover, kid will take interest in the study as well. The book supplied by school is also good one and explains all the concepts properly.
Step 1: Start with KEYBOARD book. Read yourself and understand what are the concepts covered in each chapter.
Step 2: Session 1 - Before asking anything to your kid. Explain the concepts of chapter practically.
For example:
Show you kid computer/laptop.
Show simple machines.
Show how they can use simple applications such as paint, etc.
Also allow them to play games or use the device.
Step 3: Session 2 - Now explain the concepts of each chapter to your kid. Read chapter for your kids. While reading explain these concepts practically using computer or laptop.
Step 4: Session 3 - Ask your kid to read the chapter. Ask your kid to write important word spellings from the chapter. Let them revise spellings till they remember.
Step 5: Session 4 - Take revision through the questions given the book. Keep revising chapters using question set provided in this blog.
Step 6: Repeat Step 1 through Step 5 for all the chapters.
Sample question set prepared by me are given below:
Chapter 1 - A Computer
Chapter 2 - Parts of a Computer
Chapter 3 - Uses of Computers
Chapter 4 - Know your Keyboard
Chapter 5 - Computer Mouse
Chapter 6 - Drawing for Children
Chapter 7 - Notepad and Wordpad
