Option 1 - 360 videos or VR Videos on YouTube
Step 1: Start YouTube on your smartphone.
Step 2: Search for “360 Virtual Reality Winter Wonderland”.
Step 3: Select and play first video shown in red rectangle from search results. Select “360 Virtual Reality Winter Wonderland – Gummibar The Gummy Bear” video to play
Step 4: When video starts playing, click on cardboard icon on bottom right corner to switch to VR mode. Alternatively, click on three dot icon on top right corner and select Watch in VR option.
Step 5: Select CONTINUE option on following screen. Your phone screen view changes to split screen as shown below.
Step 6: Open VR Viewer->Insert Phone->Close Viewer
Step 7: Start your amazing experience. Enjoy with your friends and family!
This way you can watch any YouTube 360 or VR videos. There is lot of such content. You can use keywords “360” or “VR” or 3D”, etc.
You can also watch any normal YouTube video or movie on YouTube using Watch in VR option. You will feel as if you are watching movie on big screen.
Option 2 - Use VR Apps
Take Immersive Roller Coaster Ride with Santa
Install Epic Roller Coaster App from Playstore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=games.b4t.epicrollercoasters
After installing, play App in Virtual Reality mode as shown below.
Insert your Smartphone in the VR Headset, and put it on your head. Wait for loading and updating information. After sometime, two buttons and yellow dot (or cursor) appears on the screen as shown. 
Take the yellow dot on PLAY button by moving your head. It takes you to the next screen.
Now move cursor to the SELECT CAR button as shown below.
Enjoy Roller Coaster Ride with Santa. There are more rides within this App. You can search for more VR Apps on Playstore.

Option 3 - Use Cardboard App
Enjoy Immersive Experience using Google's Cardboard App
Open Google Playstore App. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.samples.apps.cardboarddemo |
Install Cardboard App from Google Playstore. Warning Following message appears if phone is not VR compatible.

Open the Cardboard App. To pair your phone with VR Headset, tap the Right arrow and scan QR Code given on VR Headset. You may see your mobile screen splitting in two.

Manually Select any one icon if you are using Google Cardboard V1. Use trigger button if you are using Google Cardboard V2. Select face mask like icon called Exhibit.
