Have you seen a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object)? Betty,
Colby and Vickie have.
It was about 9 pm. Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum and Vickie’s
grandson, Colby were returning home to Dayton, Texas on Monday, 20 December
1980 after shopping in a neighbouring town. There was no other vehicle on the
highway through the piney woods. Suddenly they saw a very bright light and a
large diamond-shaped object appeared on the sky just ahead of them. It appeared
as if it would land on the highway.
Vickie tried to drive fast so that the object would land
after their car had crossed its path. However, she had to stop because the
object descended low (about 7 meters high from the ground) and hovered ahead of
them. Periodic flames shot out from the underside of the object like the fiery
blast from a rocket. It radiated intense heat. The bright light lit the whole
forest on both sides of the highway. They knew the car would melt if they tried
to drive from under it.
Vickie stopped the car and got out to examine the object.
Almost immediately the sky was filled with over 20 small-sized helicopters.
They were trying to encircle the object. The object quickly rose and darted
southwest. The helicopters followed it.
When Vickie returned to the car, she could not touch the
door. It was so hot. She used her coat sleeve to open it. When she got in, the
dashboard was so hot that when she touched it, it left a mark on her hand. All
three of them were terrified. They sped home. Later they were diagnosed to be
suffering from diseases connected to exposure to radiation. This incident has
left many questions unanswered: What was that object? Was it a UFO
(Unidentified Flying Object)? Did it belong to aliens from outer space? What
were they doing on our earth? Where did the helicopters come from? …and many
more.
