GIIS - Class 1 - Environmental Science - Main Page
Dear Parents,
I know everyone of you is nervous as well as curious. As your child will face the examination first time. As a parent of class I child, I have few tips for preparation of your child for the examination. These tips worked for me and my child. Hopefully will work it for you and your kid as well.
Steps to prepare your kid for Environmental Science: Environmental Science requires slightly different approach than English. According to my assessment the words and sentences in this subject are slightly difficult than in any other subject. It is essential that your kid get acquainted with these words. I have observed that my daughter is able to tell answers orally but it took time to correct her writing. Therefore, I used following approach and its working.
Step 1: Start with XSEED Environmental Science Volume 1.
Step 2: Day 1 - Sit with your kid and read yourself lesson for your kid. While reading let your kid listen carefully. Read each sentence and explain to your kid the meaning of it. Repeat this step if you feel your kid is still not ready to read.
Step 3: Day 2 - Ask your kid to read. Check pronunciation of each word and help your kid if not able to read. Again, explain the meaning of each sentence and concepts. After reading each paragraph ask your kid few simple questions. Revise the words once again.
Step 4: Day 3 - Your kid is not yet ready to write unless he/she knows the spellings of major keywords in the lesson. You can revise the spellings of keywords or important words from the lesson.
Step 5: Day 4 - Ask your kid to write the lesson in a rough notebook by looking into book. This will revise the words and lesson. Your kid may feel bored to do this but you will have to motivate. This session is most important as it will help improve writing as well. If child is not bored and still taking interest revise chapter again with the help of few question answer sessions.
Step 6: Day 5 - Take sample examination of your kid using question set provided in this blog. First take oral examination followed by written.
Step 6: Repeat Step 2 through Step 6 for all the lessons.
