Dear Parents,
Thank you for your overwhelming response to my Class 1 blog. It has certainly helped my daughter to do better academically and many other kids whose parents regularly used this blog. Although I reiterate that marks and grades are no indication of intellect level of any kid but scoring good marks in the examination surely boost the confidence of kid.
I know most of you were nervous in Class 1 as your kids were facing assessment first time. Now nervousness has overtaken by curiosity this year, isnt it? You are curious to know whether your kids will continue performing better this year too. Right! Do not worry. I am here again for your help. As a parent of Class 2 child, I will continue uploading preparation material on this blog. These preparation tips has worked for me and my child. Hopefully it will work for you and your kid as well.
In this computer age, there is compelling need to introduce to the computers. Today's generation is already using computers, laptops, smartphones, etc. from birth. Kids are aware about these concepts. Therefore, its challenge to make learning of this subject interesting. My observation is kids are interested to know how to do it but reluctant to learn the concepts as subject from exam point of view. Concepts of this subject can be explained practically. This will help your kid to understand it faster. Moreover, kid will take interest in the study as well. The book supplied by school is also good one and explains all the concepts properly.
Steps to prepare your kid for IT:
Step 1: Start with KEYBOARD book. Read yourself and understand what are the concepts covered in each chapter.
Step 2: Session 1 - Before asking anything to your kid. Explain the concepts of chapter practically.
For example: Show you kid computer/laptop/tablet, etc. Explain what are the parts and how it works. After practical session, allow them to play games or use the device the way they want. If it is old or broken device, I would further recommend let them open and do their hands dirty.
Step 3: Ask your kid to read the chapter. Ask your kid important word spellings from the chapter. Let them revise spellings till they remember.
Step 4: Ask your kid to write the lesson in the notebook. Your kid may feel bored to do this but you will have to motivate. This step is most important as it not only improves writing skill but also revises the chapter. If lesson is too long then ask your kid to write one or two page a time and complete writing in multiple sessions.
Step 5: Now explain the concepts of each chapter to your kid. Read chapter for your kids. While reading explain these concepts practically using computer or laptop.
Step 6: Take revision through the questions given the book. Keep revising chapters using question set provided in this blog.
Word of caution: Do not give all the the pages at once. Give your kid one or two pages at a time.
Step 7: Repeat Step 1 through Step 6 for other lessons too.
