Naming part and Telling Part


What is Sentence?
A sentence is a group of words that tell a whole idea. A sentence starts with a capital letter. A sentence ends with punctuation (like a period or question mark or exclamatory mark).
Parts of Sentence: Sentence has two parts i.e. naming part and telling part.
  • Naming Part: This part tells who or what the sentence is about. The naming part names who the sentence is about. The naming part can name two or more people or things.
  • Telling Part: A sentence has a telling part that tells what someone or something does. The telling part can tell two or more things that someone or something has done. The telling part tells what naming part did.


Example 1: The girl is laughing.
Naming part: The girl
Telling part: is laughing

Example 2: Ria and Tia will eat 25 cupcakes.
Naming part: Ria and Tia
Tellung part: will eat 25 cupcakes
